Marketing is probably the most dark art of management. Everyone knows good marketing when the see or experience it. I have never been to a board meeting where senior executives of all hues would speak on marketing topics as if they were seasoned practitioners. And yet when people speak about marketing they rarely start with a common understanding of what they mean. Brand builders regard direct marketers with suspicion.  Marketing execs and product managers exist on different planes of conciousness.  The academic way of teaching the subject can be cold and is not often of great value in teaching marketing practice.

We have assembled this site as a platform for discussion of marketing topics so that practicing marketers and marketing consultants can exchange ideas related to a topic that we all love.
